My Story

If you’ve ever been told your symptoms are “normal,” I want you to know something important. Just because something is common does not mean you’re supposed to live with it without answers or relief.

Growing up, I dealt with hearing problems, speech issues, allergies, asthma, frequent ear infections, mouth breathing, and sleep issues. At the time, many of those things were brushed off as normal, so I never questioned them. Looking back now, I realize those symptoms were signs that something deeper was going on.

Years later, my work brought me to a tongue tie specialist. That experience completely changed the way I understood oral function and its connection to overall health. The dentist opened my eyes to all the symptoms that can come from a tongue tie or improper oral function. For the first time, I began connecting the dots between the symptoms I saw in patients and the symptoms I had personally experienced myself.

Through Myofunctional Therapy and a tongue tie release, I experienced changes I never expected. I could finally breathe properly through my nose, sleep more deeply, reduce body tension, and feel a greater sense of calm in my nervous system.

Before discovering the root cause, I genuinely thought some of these struggles were just something I would have to live with forever. I know how frustrating it feels when symptoms are overlooked or when you know something feels “off” but can’t seem to find real answers. That’s why I’m passionate about helping others feel understood, supported, and cared for in their own journey.

What is Myofunctional
Therapy?

Myofunctional therapy focuses on retraining the tongue and orofacial muscles to support proper function, breathing, airway health, and overall wellness throughout the body.

The foundation of myofunctional therapy centers around four key goals: establishing proper tongue posture, encouraging consistent nasal breathing day and night, maintaining a comfortable lip seal, and developing an optimal swallow pattern.

By addressing these foundational patterns, myofunctional therapy may help support improved breathing, more restful sleep, reduced jaw tension and discomfort, and healthier long-term function overall.
